The 2007’s Transformers film was a blockbuster hit on the box office, followed by other sequels which also made a lot of money. Each and every movie of Transformers have been very successful at the box office. Except for the “Transformers: The Last Knight” which underperformed at the box office.
After The Last Knight, the future of the franchise was in doubt. Still, to not lose its grip the franchise released a solo Bumblebee movie last year, which did a pretty well at the box office.
Earlier, it was said, that Bumblebee will be a reboot for the Transformers franchise. But, now after a statement from Transformers producer, it seems like the earlier reports were wrong.
Recently, Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura spoke to Cinema and confirmed that a sequel of Transformers and Bumblebee is in process. Here’s what he said:
“We are already working on two projects and both have scripts under development. One is the latest in the main family series following the events of Transformers: The Last Knight and the other is a sequel to Bumblebee. So, we are thinking of films where Optimus Prime and Bumblebee will be the buddies, but when Optimus and Bumblebee are the movies of the protagonists … how human beings get involved in their drama In the first place, the size is different between human beings and their’s …. It’s a worrying point (laughs).”
The Transformers sequel will continue where The Last Knight ended. The earth contains Unicron, Cybertron’s ancient enemy.
It’s also possible that reboot version will introduce another group of human heroes who will share the screen with Optimus Prime and his fellow Cybertronians.
Currently, there is no news of if Michael Bay will return to the franchise, and when will the movie will get released.
